OUR STORY
Maydwell Yoga Teacher School began in 2019 as a small, in-person studio and has grown into a fully virtual yoga school, online studio, and global practice community. Founded by Air Force veteran and school teacher Brooke Maydwell, our mission is to make yoga education and classes accessible to every body, anywhere in the world.
We believe there is no single “right” way to practice yoga. Every tradition carries its own history, wisdom, and value. We honor where yoga comes from while remaining open to the many ways it can be practiced. Our teaching team, including Amy, Haley, Kelsie, and Lucee, brings different experiences and perspectives to the practice.
We also believe yoga should never be limited by what someone can afford, what their body looks like, or how flexible they are. As the cost of yoga continues to rise, it can sometimes feel like an exclusive club. That is not the yoga we believe in.
So we offer free weekly live online classes and recorded classes at no cost, ever. No membership. No expensive gear. No ridiculous pay walls. No prerequisites. Just a place to practice, learn, and be exactly where you are.
Today, Maydwell is a veteran-owned, woman-owned, and Black-owned school offering teacher trainings, continuing education, free classes, private sessions, and support for yoga teachers and businesses.
Yoga belongs to everyone. We mean it.
